Why Ondo Youngest Commissioner is Committed to Service Delivery

The youngest serving Commissioner in Ondo State, Honorable Dele Ologun has no doubt been up and doing to turn things around in the Ministry of Youths and Sports. This is evident in the ways he has met the various stakeholders in the Ministry as well as youth leaders.

Nevertheless, the readiness of Otunba Dele Ologun to make things work in the Sport Ministry is not a surprise considering the kind of person he is.

Otunba is a goal getter, a philanthropist, a community developer and a grassroots politician.

It would be recalled that he has been supporting the government of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu even before he became the Governor of Ondo State.
In different occasions, Otunba has graded the township and adjoining roads in Iju and Itaogbolu, his country home to the credit of the Arakunrin Akeredolu before his emergence as Governor. He has been making Education easy for the parents by regular payments of WAEC and JAMB forms to the indigent students. The energetic Commissioner also has some students that have either benefited or benefiting from his regular scholarship scheme. Otunba has also made the care of elderly people especially the widows his responsibility.

Meanwhile, when he was inaugurated alongside 13 other Commissioners late last year, he promised to make youth development his topmost priority. He also assured the people that the Ministry of Sports and other parastatals under her will witness unprecedented revitalization.

Meanwhile, to kickstart on a very good note, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Otunba Bamidele Ologun has reiterated his desire to develope the youths of the State.
He made this assertion when he hosted the students leadership of his immediate constituency in his office. He thanked and charged them to be good Ambassadors of their various communities and eschew any act that could scar their bright future. The Commissioner equally promised to look into their demand and act accordingly.

In his words: ” my desire for Youths Development knows no bounds.I am poised to work for the Youths of this State. My office is open everyday and anytime you want to visit. Please, feel free.”

  To encourage the students, he donated the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N 250,000, 00) as his token of support to them. The Students appreciated his kind gesture and affirmed their complete support for him.

In the same vein, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Otunba Bamidele Ologun has also reaffirmed his commitment to the overall development of Youths in the State. He  made this known when the Akure Youth Forum visited him in his Office. He said: " one of the fundamental objective of his administration is to groom our young people as responsible citizens and next generation of leaders"

The Commissioner thanked them for the visit and said their love for him will spur him into more actions. He assured them of an inclusive participation and promised to always remember them for their support during the last election in the State.

Meanwhile, in his speech, the leader of Akure Youth Development, Mr. Wake Gboyega showed their appreciation for the attention the Commissioner gave them and promised that the movement will continue to support him.
A plague was presented to the Honourable Commissioner by the Akure Youth Development during the visit.

In a similar development and putting the welfare of his staff as his top priority, the Commissioner while addressing the staff during the first meeting after the celebration of the new year affirmed his commitment to continue to prioritize the welfare of workers in the Ministry.
Ologun hinted that the Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has saddled the Ministry with the responsibilities of taken care of Youths and Sporting activities in the State.He thanked God for his mercy and charged them to be proactive by coming to work punctually and be dedicated to duty.

He pledged his administration's commitment to continue to look into their welfares. He acknowledge that the support of staff is paramount and charged them to shun backbiting and hearsay, but bring ideas that will impact on the Ministry positively.

    Earlier in his address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engineer Ajibola Ogidan welcomed all staff and said the meeting will afford stakeholders the opportunity to review government inputs, evaluate outputs, appraise outcomes, asses impacts and find solutions to challenges in the way of achieving set goals.

Also speaking at the occasion, representative of the various departments expressed delight in the ability of the Honourable Commissioner to do more for them, but asked for enabling environment to work which included, the provision of working tools, welfare of the workers, functional toilet and training to enhance their performances

 While responding to the staff demands, the Commissioner said, he remains resolute and ready to do justice to all their demands but encouraged them to remain firm and corporate with one another.
