ODHA: Chris Ayebusiwa Inaugurated, Assures of Visible Difference
House of Assembly member representing Okitipupa Constituency I, Chris Ayebusiwa, has officially been inaugurated to the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly.
Chris who massively won the 15th March House of Assembly Election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 10,084 to defeat his closet rival who scored 3,715 and lost the entire 7 political wards to him.
In his inauguration address, Chris restated his commitment to the welfare of his people, saying: “I assure the esteemed people of Okitipupa Constituency I that I will do my best to justify the confidence reposed in me. I will be accessible, responsible and accountable.
“I will be listening and welcoming to ideas that can help to improve the status of our place. It is a rare privilege that I will not take for granted. I realise that this is a challenging time for us as representatives of the people but we are determined to make a visible difference.”
Ayebusiwa, who disclosed that he represents a constituency that is disadvantaged in terms of social amenities, said he has a responsibility to draw the government’s attention to the plight of his people.
He said: “As a representative of one of the most politically virile but least developed constituencies in Ondo State, I am bearing an unusual burden. Apart from the general and protracted problem of electricity, which, as at today, is the biggest challenge for the southern senatorial district, I come from a constituency that is particularly disadvantaged in terms of the availability of basic social amenities; and I have come to draw government’s attention to the plight of my people, to give volume to their voices.
“In doing this, we plan to make critical legislative interventions for the betterment of our constituency and to lobby, where we should, for government’s support to attend to pressing socioeconomic needs of our people so that things can reasonably improve for the constituents. We will effectively involve all constituent political wards in the constituency in my dealings in office and strive to be fair to all.”
Chris however promised to join hands with colleagues in giving necessary support to the Akeredolu-led government.
“Our support shall be unflinching for the Akeredolu-led administration in the ultimate interest of the state and we shall continue to deepen efforts to ensure that our party retains popularity and acceptability with the people.” He said.
