Hon. Princess Kemisola Adesanya Bags Champion of Constituency Development Award
AKURE — Hon. Princess Kemisola Adesanya, APM candidate for Akure South and North Federal Constituency, will be honoured with the Champion of Constituency Development Award at the 13th Anniversary of D Chronicle Media Ventures.
The event will hold on Sunday, 30th August 2026 at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, at 2:00 p.m. The anniversary is themed “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability, Progress.”
Hon. Adesanya was born in Akure into the lineage of Oba (Rev) Joseph Olatunde Ogunsuyi, the late Olu of Alayere. She had her elementary education at Mayflower Junior Primary School, Ikenne, Ogun State, and secondary education at Federal Government Girls College, Akure. She holds a degree in Public Administration from Lagos State University and an Advanced Diploma in Business Management from Edinburgh School of Business, Scotland, United Kingdom.
She served two consecutive terms in the Ondo State House of Assembly, elected in 2011 and re-elected in 2015. During her tenure she was Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Chairperson of the House Committee on Diaspora, and Deputy Chairperson of the House Committee on Health.

In office, she initiated and co-sponsored several bills and motions including a bill for a social security scheme with monthly stipends for unemployed youths, a motion to preserve Yoruba indigenous language and cultural heritage, and a motion for the implementation of the “Abiye Safe Motherhood” programme for free delivery and healthcare for pregnant women and children under five. She also sponsored the relocation of a high tension electricity wire line that ran across St. Stephen’s Primary School, Oke Ijebu, Akure.
As Chairperson of Women Affairs and Social Development, she awarded scholarships to hundreds of pupils and students, provided science laboratory equipment to secondary schools, facilitated the law for the establishment of the Ondo State Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, and supported the implementation of the Child Rights Law. She also ran empowerment programmes for widows.
To sustain her impact, she founded the Kemisola Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Foundation through which thousands of young people have been trained in 21st century skills. Graduates were provided with basic equipment to start as entrepreneurs.
A sports enthusiast, she established the “Kemisola Peace Cup,” the largest youth-based football tournament in Ondo State, with over 25,000 participants. The tournament served as a platform for talent discovery, peace building and community development. Two young footballers from the platform were sponsored overseas. The initiative earned her appointment as Director, Nigeria Female Football League.
In constituency projects, she facilitated power transformers, computer sets, science equipment, mono-pump and motorised boreholes, classroom blocks, open market stalls, and free supply of drugs and medical equipment. She also empowered constituents with motorcycles, grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers and motor vehicles.
Hon. Adesanya holds positions in several organisations including Treasurer of Egbe Omo Yoruba Rere in Scotland, United Kingdom, Coordinator of Brighter Days Network, Glasgow, and Treasurer of the National Association for the Advancement of Democracy.
She is married with children and is currently the APM candidate to represent Akure South and North in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Dayo Awude, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ondo State, will deliver the keynote lecture. Prince Eni Akinsola, Public Analyst and Chief Operating Officer of Agogo Publishers Ltd, will serve as Chairman.
Special Guests expected are Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Amotekun Commander, Ondo State, and Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor.
The Royal Fathers of the Day are HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Nwade I, Olumoru of Imoru Kingdom, and HRM Oba Engr. Ademola Adebiyi Oyinbade Olanipekun III, PhD, Oloba of Uso.
The Special Guest of Honour is His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State.
The anniversary will feature a keynote lecture, award presentations, and the launching of new D Chronicle initiatives.
