Hon. Chris Ayebusiwa Bags Outstanding Legislator Award at D Chronicle 13th Anniversary
AKURE — Hon. Christopher Odunayo Ayebusiwa, member representing Okitipupa Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, will be honoured with the Most Outstanding Legislator of the Year Award at the 13th Anniversary of D Chronicle Media Ventures.
The event will hold on Sunday, 30th August 2026 at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, at 2:00 p.m. The anniversary is themed “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability, Progress.”
Hon. Ayebusiwa was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in March 2023 and inaugurated into the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly in June 2023 after an earlier attempt in 2015. He currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on State Tertiary Institutions. He is also a member of the committees on Works, Public Accounts, Judiciary and Public Petitions, and Governor’s Office and Protocol.
He chaired the House of Assembly ad hoc committee on the review of the Ondo State Electric Power Sector (Amendment) Law. He also chaired the House Committee on the review of the laws of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo.
Born on December 26, 1979, Hon. Ayebusiwa hails from Igo-Aduwo quarters, Ilutitun in Morubodo Kingdom, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. He is the son of the late Dr. Joseph Omotayo Ayebusiwa and the late Mrs. Mabel Olayinka Ayebusiwa, nee Ikupolusi.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Lagos State University.
In his constituency, he has facilitated youth employment opportunities, skills acquisition programs, and empowerment initiatives. He has organized constituency quiz competitions with cash prizes, provided direct scholarship grants to students, and pushed for rural electrification projects and localized healthcare interventions.
He was voted Lawmaker of the Year 2023 by citizens of Ondo State through the Lead Awards. He also received the Emerging Leader Award from the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, for his early legislative impact.
At the 13th Anniversary, Hon. Dayo Awude, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ondo State, will deliver the keynote lecture of which Prince Eni Akinsola, Public Analyst and Chief Operating Officer of Agogo Publishers Ltd, will serve as Chairman of the occasion.
Special Guests expected are Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Amotekun Commander, Ondo State, and Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor.
The Royal Fathers of the Day are HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Nwade I, Olumoru of Imoru Kingdom, and HRM Oba Engr. Ademola Adebiyi Oyinbade Olanipekun III, PhD, Oloba of Uso.
The Special Guest of Honour is His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State while the anniversary will feature a keynote lecture, award presentations, and the launching of the Chronicle initiatives.
