Elemure of Emure, Oba Bankole Adeyefa Bags Royal Torchbearer at D Chronicle 13th Anniversary

As D Chronicle Media Ventures marks its 13th anniversary, the organization will honour His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, with the prestigious Royal Torchbearer Award for his leadership, service to humanity, and commitment to the development of his people.
The award presentation will take place during the 13th Anniversary Lecture and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, 30th August, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State. The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.
The anniversary is themed “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability, Progress.” The Guest Speaker, Hon. Dayo Awude, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Ondo State, will deliver the guest lecture, while other distinguished personalities, policymakers, traditional rulers, and members of the public will attend the event.
Oba Bankole Adeyefa II was born on July 17, 1981, into the royal family of the late Oba Simon Adedubaje Adeyefa. He received his early education in Emure-Ile before proceeding to Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, where he obtained ND and HND qualifications in Accountancy. He later earned degrees in Business Administration and Procurement and Supply Chain Management and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at OAUSTECH.
Before ascending the throne, he built a career in procurement and institutional management. He worked at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, from 2009 to 2019 and later joined Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, where he rose to become Chief Procurement Officer and served as TETFund Desk Officer.
He is a member of professional bodies including APPON and CIPSMN and is certified by the Bureau of Public Procurement. He has also held several leadership positions in organisations including Owo Recreation Club, Rotary Club Owo Metro, AAUA Alumni Body, and RUGIPO Alumni National Body.
Beyond his professional career, Oba Bankole Adeyefa participated actively in grassroots politics, serving in various leadership positions before resigning from partisan politics.
Following the vacancy of the Elemure stool, he was selected by the kingmakers on August 25, 2025, as the 25th Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom. He is married to Olori Moronke Mercy Adeyefa, and they are blessed with children.
His recognition as Royal Torchbearer reflects D Chronicle’s commitment to celebrating Nigerians and traditional leaders who demonstrate exemplary leadership and contribute to the growth of their communities.
The 13th anniversary will also feature lectures, awards, and discussions on leadership and national development, with distinguished guests including the Chairman, Prince Eni Akinsola, and other special guests and royal fathers.
All roads lead to Akure on Sunday, 30th August, 2026, as D Chronicle Media Ventures celebrates 13 years of impactful journalism and continues the conversation on “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability, Progress.”
