Jingle Icon, Tomogun Olubunmi Bags Excellence Award for Championing Yoruba Culture and Entertainment at D Chronicle 13th Anniversary

As D Chronicle Media Ventures marks 13 years of impactful journalism, the organization will honor Chief Tomogun Olubunmi, a veteran and leader in the entertainment industry, for his outstanding contributions to culture, community development, and human advancement.
The award presentation will take place during the 13th Anniversary Lecture and Awards Ceremony scheduled for Sunday, 30th August, 2026 at 2:00 PM prompt. Venue is the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State.
This year’s theme is “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability, Progress”. Former Ondo State Commissioner for Youth, Hon. Dayo Awude, will deliver the Guest Lecture as security leaders, policymakers, and thought leaders converge to interrogate the role of accountable leadership in driving sustainable progress ahead of 2027.
Chief Tomogun Olubunmi has dedicated his life to projecting the richness of Yoruba heritage and using entertainment as a tool for societal correction. As the CEO of Tomfac Films and Music Media Empire, he has produced contents that entertain, educate, and inspire while promoting indigenous values across Nigeria and beyond. He has represented Yoruba culture in many countries, exhibiting the beauty, language, music, and traditions of the land to global audiences.
His decades of service have earned him several prestigious chieftaincy and recognition titles. He was conferred with Agbásàga of Yoruba Land by Egbe Omo Oduduwa Lagos State. He was named Lecturer of Creative Arts by the Nigeria Indigenous Group in Cairo, Egypt. He also holds the titles of BABA Nants from the National Association of Nigeria Traders, Asiwaju Afèdèsonà from Egbe Akéwì Yoruba, Yoruba Cultural Ambassador from Ile-Oluji Development Committee Home and Abroad, Senior Achiever from Nigeria Films and Music Makers Ile Oluji Oke Igbo, Omoluabi Atata and Balogun Pèdèpèdè from the Yoruba Youth Movement, among others.
Beyond entertainment, Chief Tomogun is widely respected for his leadership and advisory roles. He serves as Chief Adviser to reputable organizations including Ondo State Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, Association of Food Vendors Ondo State, Association of Professional Wedding and Engagement Coordinators, APWECON, Ondo State Artisan Group, OSAG, and the Video Cameramen and Photographer Association of Nigeria.
Through his radio and television programs, he has remained a voice of conscience, correcting societal ills and mentoring young people to embrace hard work, integrity, and cultural pride. He is regarded as a friend to all good people of Nigeria because of his commitment to community growth and human development.
