It was an auspicious day on Wednesday, 21st of July 2021, as the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) Senate Arm, honoured and presented an Award of excellent to the commissioner for Finance in Ondo State, Hon. Wale Akinteriwa for his outstanding support for the development of students and youths within and outside the state.
The Award presentation came after the body in charge of the activities of all Students of Ondo state had the first of its kind “ONDO 2021 STUDENT LEGISLATIVE SUMMIT”, a public symposium that shed light on the role of youths in the present and future Nigeria.
Speaking at the august event, the Senate President of the NAOSS Senate Arm, distinguished Senator Akindoyo acknowledged that the event wasn’t just for funfair, but to celebrate achievement, dedication to duty, industriousness and to appreciate and salute and encourage an agent of positive change that the Nigerian have waiting for, A lover of youth, students and Education per Excellent in the State.
While highlighting the qualities of the Ondo Commissioner, He said “Hon. Akinteriwa is a man that Always stands up as first among equal to make people around him smiles with every opportunities he have in his life. A youth that has and is still contributing his quota to Nation building, humanity and the promotion of youth development, education, employment and empowerment of youths which remain the best legacy that can be bequeathed on the common man in any society, such a man should be celebrated and honoured”
While also speaking on the activities and track records of the NAOSS Senate arm under his leadership, Akindoyo emphasized that “The Association has initiated several life changing programs towards the development and reorienting the students of Ondo State at large which included an highly successful “ONDO 2021 STUDENT LEGISLATIVE SUMMIT” where different House of Representative Members ,Commissioners and distinguished personalities in the State were present to re-orientate Ondo State students leaders about their responsibilities towards nation building and also selected Hon Wale AKINTERINWA for students community honour of “ONDO 2021 LEADERSHIP AWARD OF INTEGRITY AND EXCELLENT”. The Award serve as recognition of giant strive achievement of Hon Wale Akinterinwa in office and passion and contributions towards youth empowerment, educational development and love for youth and students in the State at large.”
In the meantime, Hon. Akinteriwa while giving his acceptance speech commended the leadership of the student body for their doggedness. Akniteriwa said “ I feel very humbled by this honour, I never thought of it or in any way expected this, but I can tell you that is one of the honours bestowed upon me that I will cherish, this has come as a very big surprise and it is coming from a student body comprising of mainly the youth, I am elated.”
The two term commissioner also assured the student body of his continuous support for the empowerment and growth of the youth. “Whether we like it or not, we will all leave the stage at one time or the other and it is the caliber and quality of youth that we invest in and able to produce that will take over. And that is why I so much believe in the youth and I will keep supporting their activities.” He said.
Meanwhile, the NAOSS senate arm had also recently honoured Chief Olugbega Ale, Chief Of Staff to Ondo State Governor with excellence and integrity Award.
