Workers Are the Backbone of Governance — Ondo Speaker Oladiji Celebrates Workforce
As workers in Ondo State joined others across Nigeria to mark this year’s Workers’ Day celebration, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, has praised workers for their dedication and called for renewed commitment to service.

In his goodwill message, Oladiji described workers as the backbone of governance and the major driving force behind effective service delivery across the state.
According to him, civil and public servants remain the engine room of government, translating policies and programmes into meaningful development across all sectors.
He noted that the contributions of workers in education, healthcare, administration, and other sectors are vital to the continued growth and progress of Ondo State.
The Speaker urged workers to remain committed to excellence, stressing the importance of quality and efficient service delivery at all times.
He also encouraged them to take full advantage of the various initiatives introduced by the present administration, including the Ondo Service Improvement Programme (OSIP) and the Public Training Institute established for capacity building and professional development.
Oladiji assured workers that the House of Assembly remains committed to supporting policies and enacting laws that will improve workers’ welfare, boost productivity, and ensure better working conditions in the public service.
He further commended the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for prioritising the welfare of workers and assured that every effort would continue to be made to improve their wellbeing.
He concluded by wishing all workers in the state a happy Workers’ Day celebration.
