WE ARE NOT BOTHERED WITH DEFECTION OF ERRING MEMBERS – PDP
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Akure South Local Government Chapter has received the reports of some elements who are leaving the Party with calmness, describing it as good riddance to bad rubbish.
The party in a release made available by the secretary, noted that the decision by these people to quit PDP at this time doesn’t come to us as a surprise but rather, a welcome development considering the degree of damage most of them caused to the party in recent times.
The statement explained that in the last one decade or more these set of people have moved in and out of one party to another, displaying characters they are known for, lacking political ideology and consistency which is a confirmation of their drifting nature as politicians; leaving us again is not a shock. Don’t be surprised that they might still find their way back if peradventure PDP wins the next Guber poll.
Our party cannot forget so quickly the heinous activities and destructive roles these same characters played before and during the last general elections where almost every activity of the party was vehemently opposed to. This badly fragmented the party and reduced its electoral value and chances.
Moreso, one still wonder how would a serious minded or reasonable person thinks APC would be a safe haven considering their antecedents and present predicaments that Nigerians are facing by subjecting millions of masses to an untold hardships, suffering and abject poverty.
Those pitching tent with APC, and not taking into cognizance or minding the current situation of things will soon have themselves to blame or regret their actions; it’s a question of time, we are watching.
The party understands that it is a waste of time and attention to concentrate on the individuals with lesser political value and relevance, when issues of great concerns call for same.
Those who are familiar with history would easily attest to the antecedents and political records of these individuals before they were promoted beyond their capacities and entrusted with leadership roles by the party and how some of them continually let the party down at their various localities, ward and units.
The party however, maintained that at this junction, when rebuilding, strengthening and repositioning are on course, the continued stay of these cross-carpeters and political gluttons could spell more doom for the party. It is therefore to the party’s great advantage to have the wheats separated from the tares.
All that being said, the Party, PDP, wishes the decampees well in their next political sojourn, and also admonishes her teeming members, leaders and stakeholders to remain united at this critical moment; it is a phase that will be over soon, the Party concluded.
