Ondo Speaker Commends Gov Ayedatiwa Over Severance Allowance, Recruitment

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Olamide Oladiji, has commended the State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, for approving the payment of severance allowances to members of the 7th, 8th and 9th Assemblies, as well as past Chairmen and members of the Ondo State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The Speaker described the approvals as a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of legislators and other stakeholders who have contributed to the development of the State through their service to the legislature.
Rt. Hon. Oladiji particularly appreciated the Governor for also approving the recruitment of workers into the Ondo State House of Assembly, noting that the development would help strengthen the workforce of the Assembly, improve efficiency and enhance effective legislative service delivery.
He said the approvals were timely and significant, stressing that addressing the welfare and manpower needs of the legislature would contribute positively to the smooth running of the Assembly and the overall development of the State.
The Speaker further expressed appreciation to Governor Ayedatiwa for his mature and responsible handling of the recent crisis within the House of Assembly.
According to him, the Governor’s approach to the matter demonstrated his commitment to peace, stability and the effective functioning of the three arms of government.
He noted that the Governor’s ability to manage the situation with wisdom and restraint had helped to protect the integrity of the State’s democratic institutions and create an atmosphere conducive to good governance.
Rt. Hon. Oladiji assured the Governor of the continued cooperation and support of the Ondo State House of Assembly in advancing programmes and policies aimed at improving the lives of the people of the State.
He reiterated the commitment of the Assembly to maintaining a harmonious working relationship with the Executive arm of government, while discharging its constitutional responsibilities effectively and independently.
The Speaker expressed confidence that the collaborative relationship between the Executive and Legislature would continue to yield positive results for the people of Ondo State.
He therefore thanked Governor Ayedatiwa for his leadership, understanding and continued support for the Ondo State House of Assembly, describing the latest approvals as a further demonstration of his administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and public institutions in the State.
