Ondo Assembly pays courtsey visit to OSAEC

The Ondo State House Committee on Agriculture led by its Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Taofik Oladele; Vice-Chairman, Hon. (Prince) Akinrutan Abayomi, Hon.Torhukerhijo Success, Hon. Gbegudu Ololade, and other Honourable Members have paid a courtesy visit to Ondo State Agric-Business Empowerment Centre (OSAEC), Alagbaka, Akure.

The Commitee was received by the CEO and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on OSAEC, Pastor Olotu Akinola Samuel; Permanent Secretary, Mr lwabi T.A. (Esq) and other Principal Officers of OSAEC. Pastor Olotu Akinola said he and his team were very happy at the visit of the Committee.

He said the Centre ( OSAEC) is one of the numerous initiaves of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to lift many jobless youths in the state out of poverty through training of youths on rice production, entreprenuer, honey, poultry farming, snailery, Seri-culture, among others.

He enumerated the achievements of OSAEC in local rice production, training of about 5,000 youths through Entrepreneur Workshop, honey production, Seri-culture Unit for training of women in each Local Government on weaving of cloths for school uniform for students, poultry farming, among others.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Mohammed Taofik Oladele, commended the Centre ( OSAEC) for the good works it has been doing in the state to ensure that many jobless youths are empowered through Agric-Business to better their lives.

However, the soft-spoken Lawmaker representing the good people of Akoko North/west, Constituency ll appealed to the Centre ( OSAEC) to sensitise the people, especially those living in the rural areas of the state on its laudable programme to improve the socio-economic lives of the people in the state.He observed that the activities of OSAEC will not only alleviate poverty in the state but also reduce social menace such as robbery, kidnapping, etc precipitated by unemployment.

The Lawmaker said the House Committee will always support and collaborate with OSAEC in actualising its objectives of lifting many people in the state out of poverty through its Agric-Business schemes.
