Ondo Assembly Confirms Omowumi as Commissioner-designate

The Ondo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Omowumi Issac as the State commissioner.

The confirmation followed the submission and consideration of the report of the House Committee on Selection chaired by the Speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji.

It will be recalled that the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa had on the 2nd of February sent the names of six commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The nominees, were, therefore screened and confirmed on the 6th of February, but Mrs. Omowumi Isaac, the sixth commissioner-nominee, was not available for the exercise.

While presenting the report of the committee, the Deputy Speaker and the vice chairman of the committee on selection, Rt Hon Abayomi Akinruntan, said Mrs. Omowumi Isaac is physically, mentally, and emotionally fit for the job.

He also noted that the commissioner nominee passed through all the norms, and has the required experiences and qualifications to function effectively in that capacity.

The Majority Leader, Hon Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi moved the motion for the adoption of the committee’s report and confirmation of the nominee, which was seconded by Hon Ololade Gbegudu.

The Speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji upon the unanimous decision of the House ruled for the confirmation of her appointment.

The appointee, Mrs. Omowumi Issac, who appreciated the lawmakers for doing their job with sincerity, promised that she would not let the people down.

She also thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for the confidence reposed in her and assured to contribute his quota to the continued development of the State.
