ONDO ASSEMBLY COMMENDS THE INNOVATION STEPS OF OWENA LEADERSHIP

The Ondo State House of Assembly has commended the innovative steps of the leadership of Owena Press Limited,publisher of The Hope Titles on the improvement in the quality and contents of the newspaper.
They also lauded infrastructural development at the Company’s premises.

They assured the Management of its continued support in enhancing the capacity of the company for optimal performance.

The Chairman House Committee on information, Youth and Sports Development ,Akogun Gbenga Omole gave the commendation during the committee’s oversight visit to the company.

Omole affirmed that the newspaper has become a brand name and an image of the State, assuring that the legislature would continue to collaborate with the management in the quick execution of policies that would transform the company.

“I discovered that there has been a tremendous improvement in the outlook and contents of the newspaper. And I want to assure you that we would back you up in order to fortify the company”,he aasured.

Other members who spoke during the visit advised the company to continue to boost circulation of the newspaper to the nooks and crannies of the state and beyond.

The lawmakers promised the management that they are fully ready to assist in any area that they could anytime and advised the company to put the equipment needed in the next budget proposal to see what can be done.

The committee members who said one of the driving force of the media is the ability to formulate ideas, therefore lauded the Chairman /Editor -in- Chief the company, Sir Ademola Adetula and the management for projecting the image of the government on good light

They equally congratulated the Chairman for his reappointment.

According to them, “The newspaper is very rich in content with credible stories .We acknowledge the importance of the Agency to news dissemination in the state”.

While welcoming the parliamentarians, Sir Adetula noted that things have changed tremendously in the company in terms of contents , physical structure , wide circulation, capacity building , welfare of staff, among others.

The Chairman who was represented by the Editor of the newspaper, Mr Akindele Adubuola reeled out some of the achievements of the present leadership of the company to include, procurement of motorcycles to strengthen home delivery subscription and circulation, distribution of palm tops for reporters, training for staff within and outside the state, procurement of furniture and,tilling of offices.

Other achievements he informed are, extension of existing buildings, landscaping, drainages, overhauling of printing machine, online operation and visual visibility of the newspaper globally, purchasing of cameras and generator among others.

Adetula who sought for more support of the lawmakers in terms of modern web machines ,as equipment used for production are obsolete, thanked them for the visit and support.

He assured that the company will not rest on its oars in bringing information to the door steps of the masses.

The Admin Manager of the company, Mr Kole Akinjeji also thanked the committee members for their visit and interest in moving the company forward.

The Lawmakers were later taken round the printing section for inspection of equipments .

This is the third time the 9th Assembly house committee on information would be visiting the state owned media outfit to assess its progress and challenges.
