The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has disclosed ongoing discussions with the Nigeria Salaries and Wages Commission to standardize the salaries of paramilitary officers, aligning them with those of the Nigeria Police Force.

Furthermore, similar to the military, the Federal Government is contemplating the creation of a pension board for personnel within the Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

The Minister emphasized that paramilitary personnel merit salary enhancements and the establishment of a pension board, acknowledging the risks associated with their roles.

This statement was made during an interview on Human Rights Radio in Abuja, as conveyed by the Director of Press, Ministry of Interior, Ajibola Afonja, in a statement released on Tuesday.
