Ayetoro Sea Incursion: ODHA seeks UN, FG’s intervention

Ondo State House of Assembly has called on the United Nations, the Federal Government and other relevant agencies to urgently intervene in the incessant Ayetoro sea incursion.

This was the resolution of the House while speaking on matters of urgent public importance at a plenary.

While addressing the house on the issue, the Lawmaker representing ILAJE constituency 1, Hon Prince Abayomi Akinruntan said people in the affected communities had lost valuables worth millions of naira and were currently sacked from their homes.

Prince Akinruntan appealed To the national emergency management agency NEMA to speed up the distribution of relief materials to the victims.

In his ruling, the Speaker of the House Rt Hon Bamidele Oleyelogun also expressed his worries over the sea incursion which has almost wiped off the community and observed that the issue is beyond the State government, appealing to the UN, World Bank, Federal government and other intervention agencies to rescue the situation so that the affected areas will not go into extinction.

In another development, the House also appealed to the aggrieved people in Ikare Akoko crisis to sheath their swords and embrace peace.

While sympathizing with the affected people who lost their loved ones and property called on the monarchs and other stakeholders to intervene and call their people to order for peace to reign.

On the incessant kidnapping in Ose local government, the House called on security agencies to put in more efforts and fish out the perpetrators.

The lawmakers sympathized with the family of the Adelegbes and others who were affected by the evil act and prayed for quick release of those who are still in captivity of the kidnappers.
