APC, Sani, Bwala Take a Stand Against Atiku and El-Rufai
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly rejected Atiku Abubakar’s claims that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration offered N50 million to opposition figures to destabilize political parties. APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, called the allegations “baseless and laughable,” attributing them to Atiku’s “political desperation.”

These comments were made during the National Conference on Strengthening Democracy in Nigeria in Abuja, where Atiku accused the government of financially inducing chaos in opposition parties. The APC criticized Atiku for spreading rumors and pointedly blamed him for the PDP’s ongoing crises.
The ruling party dismissed recent claims from Nasir El-Rufai about the APC interfering in opposition conflicts as “pitiful” and accused opposition leaders of failing to manage their parties. They emphasized that Nigerians are not swayed by desperate accusations ahead of the 2027 elections.
El-Rufai, despite expressing dissatisfaction with the APC’s internal structure and effectiveness, affirmed his loyalty to the party, stating, “I have no intention of exiting the party.” He criticized the APC for straying from its founding principles and neglecting internal democracy.
Former Senator Shehu Sani condemned El-Rufai’s statements on leadership, questioning his authority to criticize others given his tenure. Sani labeled El-Rufai intolerant of opposition and hypersensitive to criticism.
