‘I Receive Confidential Security Information, Can Kidnap a Governor’ — Bandit Leader Maha Claims
A notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Maha, has claimed he has access to confidential information from within Nigeria’s security system and possesses the capability to abduct high-profile government officials, including state governors.

Maha made the claims in an audio recording that surfaced on Sunday and was circulated on X by a verified user.
In the recording, the bandit leader alleged that individuals within the country’s security structure provide him with advance information about planned security operations and military offensives before they are carried out.
He further accused authorities of refusing to release some of his arrested associates and confiscated cattle, claiming the development contributed to renewed attacks across affected communities.
According to Maha, several attempts to secure the release of his men were unsuccessful, and he remains determined to continue his activities despite intensified military operations targeting his camp.
The bandit leader also claimed he had already identified fresh targets and would not be discouraged by ongoing security efforts.
In one of his most controversial remarks, Maha alleged that he has the capacity to coordinate the abduction of senior government officials, including a serving governor.
He maintained that as long as he remains active, he would continue pursuing his objectives.
The claims have not been independently verified, and security authorities had yet to issue an official response as of the time of filing this report.
