“WE ARE READY TO MAKE YOUR OFFICE IMPACTFUL” ODHA ASSURES ONDO LGSC

The Ondo State House of Assembly has assured Ondo State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) of finding solutions to their challenges with a view of making them a better team for maximum performance and output.

The Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Rt Hon Samuel Aderoboye, Member representing Odigbo constituency 2, gave this assurance during a familiarization visitvisit to the LGSC in Akure.
He appreciated the performance of the management so far, and urged them to put in more efforts.

While briefing the committee on their report, Barr Kehinde Ige Permanent Secretary Local Government service Commission appreciates the committee for their visit and said the major challenge of the commission was lack of funds, which had limited their performances.
He further listed lack of adequate office accommodations and decaying infrastructural facilities as challenges facing the board.

Also speaking, Dr Chief Wumi Eniayewu Permanent Secretary Local Government Pension Transitional Department commended the present administration led by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the payment of all the back lock of salaries by the previous administration and for also paying their monthly salaries regularly.
He further said that the department which is now under the supervision of Ondo State Head of service lack funds which has also affected payment of gratuities and pension and that the department is still looking forward for the sum of 150Million promised by the state government to pay the pensioners.

Furthermore, Otunba Tunde Monehin Permanent Secretary Local Government staff Loan Board said they have not been able to access enough funds which is affecting their output. He also said the Law establishing the board needs an update , which they have been working on to send to the House of Assembly For amendment so that the primary school teachers will also have access to loan in the state.

Earlier, The Chairman Local Government Service Commission Hon Femi Idris has appreciated the committee for their visit saying the commission will be looking forward to work hand in hand with the committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the 9th assembly as they did with the committee in 8th Assembly.

While speaking, a member of the Committee Hon Suliam Maito, commended the efforts of Local Government Pension Board for their outstanding performance.
He said the board has been trying its best where senior citizens who gave their best to the state were concerned, and expressed hope that the unpaid dues would be tackled very soon even if the Assembly will have to meet the Governor.

Also in his response, the Chairman of the Committee, Rt. Hon Samuel Aderoboye said, “the problems and challenges are general problems which affect others as well, so we urge you to bear with us as we promise to find solution to it very soon he said”

Other members of the committee in attendance were: Hon Olamide Oladiji, Hon Felemu Bankole, Hon Simon Borokinni, Hon Abayomi Akinruntan, Hon Akinribido Akintomide, Hon Sunday Olajide
