Three Feared Dead in Fresh Cult Clash in Osogbo

At least three men have reportedly been killed in a suspected cult-related clash in the Owode-Ilesa area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The incident, which occurred on Friday afternoon, has renewed concerns over alleged cult-related activities and violence in parts of the city.

One of the victims was identified as Adebayo Taoreed, popularly known as “Small Rugged,” while another was identified only as “Osha.” The identity of the third victim had not been established as of the time of filing this report.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the three men were killed during the suspected clash in the Owode-Ilesa area.

Taoreed had previously been mentioned in records cited by the Osun State Police Command as an ex-convict and suspected cult member.

The latest incident has raised fresh concerns among residents over the recurrence of suspected cult-related violence in Osogbo, particularly in areas where similar clashes have been reported in the past.

The circumstances surrounding the clash, including what triggered the confrontation and whether any suspects have been arrested, were not immediately clear.

However, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed that the incident occurred.

Further details were expected as police authorities continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
