Let’s Build a Better and More Prosperous Nigeria

As we celebrate our country’s 66th Independence Anniversary today, 1st October 2026, I am filled with nostalgia as I reflect on our proud heritage as a people united in diversity and brotherhood.
Nigeria has come a long way, weathered many storms, and continues to wax stronger in the face of numerous challenges. Indeed, our diversity remains a source of strength and resilience, come rain or shine.
On this auspicious occasion, I heartily felicitate with the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, whose commitment to building a united and prosperous Nigeria through knowledge generation, dissemination and application has remained unwavering.
Today’s celebration also rekindles in our minds the sacrifices of our heroes past, whose labour laid the foundation for the Nigeria we have today. Their courage, patriotism and selfless service remind us of our collective responsibility to preserve and strengthen the unity of our nation.
In our various capacities and callings, let us continue to build on the good legacies bequeathed to us, without let or hindrance. Let us continue to embrace peaceful coexistence, genuine love for one another, renewed hope in our collective destiny, and the spirit of good neighbourliness.
Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams—a nation that we can all be proud of, and a better and more prosperous Nigeria that will take its rightful place among the comity of nations.
Happy 66th Independence Anniversary to all Nigerians!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
