ONDO NURTW FELICITATES ADEWINLE ON SWDC COMMISSIONERSHIP; LAUDS AIYEDATIWA ON NOMINATION

The Ondo State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has sent words to congratulate Dr. Jide Martins Adewinle on his nomination as a Member/Commissioner at the South West Development Commission (SWDC).


In a press statement signed by the Chairman, Comrade Ademola Odudu,a copy of which was made available to Chronicles Magazine, Adewinle was described as an illustrious son of the state who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the state.Odudu described the nominee as a good Ambassador of the state, an exceptional role model, accomplished visionary symbol, astute manager and a political leader of unwavering dedication to service whose nomination “speaks to the high standards of professionals and technocrats across the statel”.


“Over the years, Dr. Adewinle has demonstrated unwavering dedication, unparalleled wisdom and a deep sense of service to the state, and his leadership has been defined by his remarkable ability to inspire and transform others. Beyond his impressive professional attainments, his personality embodies the values of integrity, humility, fairness and compassion”, the message reads in part.
The union did not mince words when it also expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on the nomination of who it described as “a round peg in a round hole”, even as it prayed God for the nominee’s best of success at both the screening and confirmation stages as well as his assumption of office.

It will be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thurday May 10, 2025 transmitted a letter to the National Assembly for the confirmation of eighteen (18) nominees into the newly created agency, and Dr. Jide Martins Adewinle, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of West Africa Petrogas Global Resources is one of the two (2) nominees from Ondo State. Chronicles Magazine reports that the Fellow Chartered Accountant and Certified Forensic Expert’s nomination is viewed as a significant milestone for Comprehensive High School, Ode-Aye Community, Ondo State and the entire South-West region, and that he will bring his expertise and wealth of intellect to bear positively on the development of the South-West region.
