Ondo Governor Wife receives Role Model in Girl Child Development Award.
The wife of Ondo State Governor, Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu has been honoured with Award of Role model in Girl Child Development.
The First Lady of Ondo State, Chief (Mrs) Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu has therefore described the Award as fulfilling and rewarding considering the circumstances that surround it.
“I consider it as proper and truly denoting what it is regarded to be, evidence of what we have done , what we are doing and of course , what we will continue to to do, hence, I’m accepting it with all pleasure”.
The Award was presented to her by the Association of PTA Role Model Award & Investiture Ceremony, organized by the National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria on Tuesday 28th of June, 2022 at the International Cultural and Event Center (De Dome ).
Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu said it is important to note that the Girl Child represents the lens for seeing the true stature and status for a nation, the gauge for ganging its successes or failures”.
“The mentioned of Girl Child strikes a chord with me, it is for me a subject of special touch and significance”.
“As we rise collectively towards rewriting the narrative around African women,we must strategically build a new generation of women through our girls by raising them differently” she said.
The welcome address was delivered by Alhaji (High Chief) Abimbola Omoloja, Chairman of PTA Ondo State Chapter and National Vice President.
The Chairman explained that all the merit Award winners of the Association were based on performances towards education in the State.
Alhaji Abimbola Omoloja Appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu and his Government for providing enabling environment for education to thrive in the State.
He stated that education as the bedrock of development, social, political and physical as it leads to prosperity and diminishes social vises.
Lastly, he said it was worthy of note that the Association was suffering in silence and therefore solicited for Government assistance especially in the major areas of transportation and office accomodation out of many.
