Ondo Deputy Speaker bags Legislator of the Year Award
The Deputy Speaker,Ondo State House of Assembly,Rt Hon.Prince Abayomi Akinruntan has bagged the Award of Most outstanding Legislator of the Year.
The third term Lawmaker representing llaje Constituency 1 popularly called “ABA” was honoured at a colourful tenth public lecture/awards programme organized by the Chronicle Magazine in Akure.
He was honoured alongside twenty 27 other personalities at the occasion.
Speaking on how the Deputy Speaker emerged ,the publisher of the magazine,Mr Olaseeni Oyesusi said the process was entirely based on thorough assessment in the context of deliverables so far in terms of dividends of democracy.
The Speaker Rt.Hon. Olamide Oladiji who led other Members to the event described his Deputy as a good representative, saying that the honour is symbolic and a well deserved one.
Other members who graced the occasion include,Hon. Olajide Oguntodu, the Minority leader, Hon. Oshati Olatunji chairman house committee on information,Hon.Rotimi Abitogun, Hon. Princess Oluwatosin Ogunlowo-Ajirotutu, Hon Oluwatoyin Daodu among others.
The Lawmakers affirmed that the Deputy Speaker is a great pillar at the State Assembly , noting that the conferment is in order due to his experience and antecedents as exemplary parliamentarian.
Responding,the Deputy Speaker thanked the Chronicle Magazine for the honour while reiterating his unwavering commitment to promoting the interest of his people at all times.
“More than ever before,this honour will further spur me in doing my best at ensuring good representation for my people and the State at large.I equally believe that other awardees being honoured today will further be encouraged to continue to give their best in service to humanity.
” It is an honour among the lot and it is a call and challenge to do more”,he stated.
