Ondo Assembly holds special session for late Lawmaker, Hon Kutti Towase

The Ondo State House of Assembly has held a special plenary session in honour of a former lawmaker, Hon Kutti Oluwasegunota Towase who served during the Eighth and Ninth Assembly.

Hon Kutti who represented Akoko South West state constituency during the 8th & 9th Assembly between 2015 – 2023 was also a former secretary of his Local Government.

Both present and former lawmakers, family members, politicians among others converged at the chamber of the Assembly where a minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased.

The special plenary session was presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji.

At the plenary, the House of Assembly members and other dignitaries made speeches and orations in honour and memory of the late Lawmaker, whom they described as very dedicated and committed Parliamentarian.

A former Lawmaker, Hon. Gbenga Omole, said it painful to have lost the former lawmaker at his prime. why sympathizing with the family, he enjoined the lawmakers to always consider the well-being of past and current members of the House of the Assembly.

Also,Hon Olusegun Ajimotokin a former Lawmaker, who described the late Hon Kutti as a sincere leader who committed his life to serving people, urged the leadership of the House of the Assembly to influence prompt payment of severance allowance of former lawmakers so that they could cater for their health and personal needs when they still lived

The Majority Leader of the, Hon Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi described the late lawmaker as a man peace who always stood for the truth.

Current Lawmakers equally spoke glowingly about the former Lawmaker, describing him as community leader per excellence and prayed for God to grant the departed soul eternal rest.

Extolling the virtues of the late former lawmaker, the Speaker described him as bold, priliant dedicated member of the House who lived his entire life for humanity.

Oladiji who sympathized with the families of the former legislatures, said his meaningful and robust contribution to legislative matters would not be forgotten in a haste as he would be greatly missed.

The Speaker appreciated people in attendance for creating time to pay their last respect to the former lawmaker and encouraged all to live an excemplerary life.

Hon Kutti passed on to glory on January 16th, 2025 at the age of 62.
