The city of Ondo was agog on Friday 26th of April 2024 as the Adeyeye Dynasty bids farewell their esteemed matriarch. Chief Mrs. Oluwawemimo Grace Adeyeye, who was laid to rest at the age of 84. Chief Mrs. Adeyeye, the Sama Lobun of Ondo Kingdom and Iyalode Agbaakin of Ibadan Land, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith, leadership, and love.

A devout Christian, Chief Mrs. Adeyeye’s commitment to her faith was evident throughout her life. In 1986, she embarked on a journey to Jerusalem for a holy pilgrimage, demonstrating her deep spirituality and reverence for religious traditions. Within her local church community at St. Stephen Cathedral Oke Aluko, Ondo, she was an active member of the cathedral ladies’ worker’s union, exemplifying her dedication to serving others.

Beyond her religious affiliations, Chief Mrs. Adeyeye was renowned for her astute business acumen. As an accomplished businesswoman, she earned admiration and respect from many in her community. Her leadership skills were evident in both her professional endeavors and her role within her family.
