Few individuals can tell the story of Ondo State’s cocoa industry with the depth of experience and passion that Hon. Bolodeoku Michael Feyisola brings to the table. From learning the fundamentals of produce trading in the early 1990s to becoming one of the respected voices in the cocoa business, his journey reflects perseverance, enterprise, and commitment to agricultural development.

This remarkable contribution to the growth of the cocoa sector will be celebrated at the 2026 Excellence in Agribusiness Lecture and Award Programme organised by D Chronicle Media Ventures, where Hon. Bolodeoku will receive the Cocoa Development Icon of the Year Award.

The event is scheduled to hold on June 11, 2026, at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure. With the theme, “Unlocking the Agricultural Tax Potentials: Strategies for Enhancing Ondo State IGR,” the programme will bring together policymakers, agribusiness stakeholders, farmers, and development experts to discuss strategies for economic growth through agriculture.

Hon. Bolodeoku’s journey in the produce business began under the mentorship of renowned produce merchant, Mr. Johnson Akinsara, popularly known as Field Marshal. After spending six years mastering the trade, he ventured into independent cocoa buying in 1996 and steadily built a thriving enterprise that has remained relevant for over three decades.

Beyond commerce, he is also actively involved in farming, with interests in both cereal and cash crop production. His leadership within the agricultural community is evident in his role as President General of the Commodities Traders Association in Odigbo Local Government Area, where he has continued to champion the interests of produce merchants and farmers.

His influence extends beyond agriculture into public service and community development. He previously served as Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources and later Supervisor for Health in Odigbo Local Government. He also served as Senior Special Assistant on Produce to the Ondo State Governor, contributing to policies and initiatives aimed at strengthening the produce sector.

A respected pastor, community leader, and advocate of good governance, Hon. Bolodeoku has earned admiration for his integrity, humanitarian efforts, and commitment to peaceful coexistence.

His impact has been felt not only in business and politics but also in the lives of many individuals and communities he has supported over the years.

As D Chronicle Media celebrates outstanding contributors to agribusiness and economic development, Hon. Bolodeoku Michael Feyisola stands out as a symbol of resilience, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of cocoa production and agricultural prosperity in Ondo State.
