First Lady donates N100m to Niger tanker explosion victims, visits IBB, Abdulsalami
Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has donated the sum of N100,000,000 to the families of those that lost their lives in the recent tanker explosion at Dikko-Junction, Abuja-Kaduna expressway in Gurara Local Council of Niger State.

The First Lady announced the donation when she paid a condolence visit to Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago at the Government House, Minna, yesterday, to commiserate with him and the people of the state over the disaster.
She said: “We are aware the governor has done so much to rehabilitate the families of the victims, so we are looking at either under 70 families through the governor’s wife. Each family will have N1 million to help them settle and for other extra expenses like food items. We pray such disaster won’t happen again, and praised Governor Bago’s giant strides in agriculture, and infrastructure development across the state.”
Senator Tinubu also met with the former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar at their uphill residences in Minna.
She arrived at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna around 10:30 a.m. aboard a private aircraft. She was warmly received by Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago and his wife, Hajiya Fatima Bago.
From the airport, the First Lady proceeded directly to General Babangida’s residence, where she held a closed-door meeting lasting approximately 35 minutes.
Following that, she visited the nearby residence of General Abdulsalami Abubakar for another private discussion.
The purpose of the meetings was not publicly disclosed, and access was restricted to members of the Niger State Governor’s press crew. When approached for details, officials described the visits as strictly private. The governor, on his part, appreciated the President’s wife for her motherly support and for sympathizing in this trying period.
