In a heartwarming display of support on Sunday 26th of May 2024, Senator Yele Omogunwa’s Church congregation, St. Ernest, Akure, welcomed Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) with great enthusiasm.

Speaking to the congregation at the birthday thanksgiving service of the elder statesman, Comrade. Alli expressed admiration for Senator Omogunwa, lauding him as a leader with a passion for paradigm shift in governance also stating that the Senator’s believe in the government to be led by the younger generation is not in doubt. He praised Omogunwa for his leadership in the Ondo Southern Senatorial District and across the state, wishing him continued good health.

Comrade Alli took the opportunity to outline his vision for Ondo State, emphasizing that his campaign is built on the foundational principles of the PRP, which focuses on uplifting the downtrodden.
“The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) is not new in the political system. Our party has an undying passion for the emancipation of the downtrodden. When we come on board, our programs will be based on five major intervention areas, reiterating the plan to form a government of the people. “After election, it will be governance and not further politics as some parties do”, Alli declared.

Elaborating on his plans, Alli highlighted his commitment to addressing key issues such as food security, security of lives and properties, and grassroots development through the creation of Community Development Areas (CDAs) to bring governance to the grassroot. He emphasized the wealth of Ondo State and his determination to leverage it for the benefit of the people.
“Ondo state is rich, and we will drive the wealth of the state for Ondo state people by prioritizing production and mainstreaming our people via cooperative societies, as well as giving full attention to infrastructure development leading to urbanization of major towns,” he said.

Senator Yele Omogunwa, who served in the 8th Assembly representing Ondo South Senatorial District responded warmly to Alli’s remarks. He expressed gratitude for the PRP candidate’s kind words and urged the congregation to support a proactive candidate like Alli.
“I pray that all the political issues going on in the state will favor you. Though I am not part of your party, I am pleased with your vision, and I know my people here are also pleased. God will make your dreams come to reality,” Omogunwa said.

The event concluded with a strong sense of unity of purpose and optimism as the congregation’s warm reception of Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli underscored the growing support for his candidacy. With the 2024 Ondo governorship election approaching, Alli’s engagement with community leaders and citizens continues to build momentum for his campaign, reflecting his commitment to forming a government that truly represents the people of Ondo State.
