Dr. Olusegun Ayodeji Adeleye Bags African Businesses Titan Award
Dr. Olusegun Ayodeji Adeleye, Chairman of the Ondo State Goats and Sheep Farmers Association, has been honored with the prestigious African Businesses Titan Award. The award, which celebrates exceptional African leaders whose work has transformed industries, uplifted communities, and set new standards of excellence across the continent, was presented at a ceremony organized by The Face of African TV at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure.

This year’s event was held under the theme “Between Home and Diaspora: Economic Choices and Living Expenses”, spotlighting the economic realities and opportunities shaping African enterprise both locally and abroad. In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Adeleye dedicated the award to all those who have impacted his life positively, acknowledging their role in his journey of service and achievement.
The recognition highlights Dr. Adeleye’s decades-long impact in professional practice, agriculture, and community development, positioning him among Africa’s most influential business and development figures. Born over seven decades ago, Dr. Adeleye began his educational journey in the 1960s, attending primary schools in Owo and Ile Oluji, both in Ondo State. After completing his primary education he took a short break before proceeding to secondary school, where he successfully completed his studies. Driven by a passion for knowledge and professional advancement, he gained admission to the prestigious University of Lagos and later furthered his studies at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He subsequently earned a Master’s degree from Ekiti State University. Seeking further academic exposure, Dr. Adeleye traveled to the United Kingdom for advanced studies and obtained a PhD in Accounting with specialization in Taxation from the University of Liverpool in the early 2000s.
Before completing his doctorate, Dr. Adeleye had already built a successful career in the banking sector. He worked as an auditor with First Bank of Nigeria, one of the country’s leading financial institutions, and through dedication and professionalism rose through the ranks, eventually retiring in 2012 with an impressive record of service. Dr. Adeleye is widely respected in professional and social circles. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom (FCCA). He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Economists of Nigeria, a Consultant with the Institute of Financial Consultants, USA, a Fellow of the Institute of Finance & Control of Nigeria, and a Fellow of the Institute of Company and Commercial Accountants, among several other professional bodies.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Adeleye plays active roles in several social and community organizations. He is a member of the Ikeja Country Club in Lagos, the Owo Development Association popularly known as Owo Forum, and the Owo Ambassador Club in Akure, among others. His passion also extends to agriculture. Since 2003 he has served as the Chairman of the Sheep and Goat Farmers Association of Nigeria, where he has been actively involved in promoting livestock farming and supporting agricultural development. Over the years, Dr. Adeleye has received several recognitions for his contributions to professional practice, agriculture, and community development, notably an international award in Israel in 2012. His professional engagements and conferences have also taken him to various parts of the world, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, and Italy.
The African Businesses Titan Award now adds to his distinguished record, honoring not only his achievements as a seasoned accountant and banking professional but also his leadership in agriculture and his unwavering commitment to community growth. With a career marked by integrity, dedication, and global exposure, Dr. Olusegun Ayodeji Adeleye remains a respected figure whose contributions continue to impact professional practice, community development, and agricultural advancement across Africa.
