Dangote Refinery Begins Nationwide Sale of Petrol at ₦739 Per Litre
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), announcing a pump price of ₦739 per litre across more than 2,000 MRS filling stations in Nigeria.
The move marks a major shift in the country’s fuel supply chain and comes as motorists prepare for the peak holiday travel season, which often sees steep increases in pump prices and limited availability.

According to the refinery, the pricing strategy is supported by a guaranteed daily supply target of 50 million litres of petrol, a measure expected to improve market stability, ensure product availability and reduce dependence on imports.
Management of the refinery described the development as a significant step towards achieving affordable fuel access for Nigerians, adding that the pricing model is designed to benefit households, commercial transporters, businesses and the wider economy.
The refinery also cautioned against attempts by individuals or fuel marketers to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply in response to the price shift, urging enforcement authorities to remain vigilant.
Motorists have been encouraged to report any MRS fuel station selling at prices higher than the approved ₦739 per litre.
Industry observers say the intervention could influence market behaviour, help moderate inflationary pressure and position Dangote Refinery as a central player in Nigeria’s petroleum sector going forward.
The rollout is expected to continue across the country in the coming days, with assurances that supplies will remain steady throughout the festive period and beyond.
