Court Remands Man for Possession of Exhumed Human Head in Ondo
A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered the remand of a man accused of being in possession of a human head allegedly exhumed from a grave.
The suspect was arraigned by the police on allegations of unlawfully tampering with a corpse and possessing human remains.
According to the prosecution, the man was apprehended with the human head, believed to have been removed from a buried body, a development that reportedly caused concern among residents of the area.
The court declined to take the plea of the defendant and ordered that he be remanded in a correctional facility pending further investigation and legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case was adjourned to a later date for further hearing.
