Comr. Prince Igbakanrun Tony Olusoji to Receive Award for Excellence in Healthcare Service and Humility at D Chronicle’s 13th Anniversary

AKURE — The contributions of Comr. Prince Igbakanrun Tony Olusoji to healthcare delivery and community development will be spotlighted on Sunday, August 30, 2026, as D Chronicle Media Ventures marks its 13th Anniversary at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State.

The anniversary, themed “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability, Progress,” will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will bring together policymakers, media practitioners, traditional rulers, civil society actors, students and other stakeholders to discuss leadership and national development ahead of 2027.

Comr. Igbakanrun, fondly called PTony, was born on 25th November 1975 in Ode-Ugbo to the royal family of Oyetayo, Olugbo dynasty. He is Yoruba by ethnicity and a devoted Christian.

He began his education at St. Phillip’s Anglican Primary School, Ereke, where he served as Health Prefect and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1989. He proceeded to Timi School of Commerce, Warri, Community Grammar School, Zion Pepe, and Happy City College, Aiyetoro-Ilaje, where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 2009.

Driven by a passion for service, he bagged a Professional Diploma in Pharmacy Technician from the College of Health Technology, Ilese-Ijebu Ode in 2014, and completed a one-year induction program at Lagos State College of Health Technology, Yaba in 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health from ESFAM-BENIN University, Benin Republic in 2024, and is currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Pharmacy at St. Monica University, Cameroon.

In public service, he served as Zonal Coordinator, NAPPMED Olotu Zone, Ilaje LGA from 2000 to 2010. He has been Executive Chairman, NAPPMED Ilaje LGA since 2010, and was appointed State President, NAPPMED Ondo State in 2025. He is also the incumbent National Treasurer of Big Brothers Elite Foundations, BBEF.

He is widely credited with transforming NAPPMED Ondo State through strategic leadership. He is regarded as a master strategist, a voice against corruption and disunity, and a champion of good governance. Beyond his professional duties, he is a philanthropist who enjoys music, football and athletics.

Comr. Igbakanrun is married to Mrs. Orimisan Aina Igbakanrun and they are blessed with children. He is described as a respected community development enthusiast whose courage and selfless service have redefined leadership in the health sector.

The keynote address will be delivered by Hon. Dayo Awude, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ondo State, while Prince Eni Akinsola, Public Analyst and Chief Operating Officer of Agogo Publishers Ltd, will serve as Chairman of the occasion.

Special Guests expected include Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Amotekun Commander, Ondo State, and Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor. The Special Guest of Honour is His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State.

The Royal Fathers of the Day are HRM Rotimi Obamuwagun Nwade I, Olumoru of Imoru Kingdom, and HRM Oba Engr. Ademola Adebiyi Oyinbade Olanipekun III, PhD, Oloba of Uso.

For 13 years, D Chronicle Media Ventures has operated Chronicle TV, Chronicle Online, and Chronicle Magazine, with a focus on truth, knowledge, accountability and national development. The anniversary will feature a keynote lecture, award presentations and panel discussions.
