Chronicle Fizzy 2023: Ondo Rep Member, Makinde Bags Political Icon Award
The House of Representatives Member, representing Ondo West/Ondo East Federal Constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Hon Abiola Makinde is billed to be confered with Political Icon Award by the Chronicle Magazine on 12th February, 2023 at Sunbeth Hotel, Sijuade Akure.
The Chronicle Fizzy is an annual lecture and Award programme where outstanding individuals are recognized for their contributions to the development of the society in their various field of endeavours.
In the political category of the Award, Hon Abiola Makinde outstanding performance and quality representation at the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly stands him out among his contemporaries which necessitated the nomination for the prestigious honour.
To say that Hon Makinde is noted for incessant delivery of dividend of democracy to the people is an understatement going by his various lives touching programs.
It would be recalled that Hon Makinde and his wife recently trained 1,175 teachers and administrators from his Federal Constituency. This gesture has been described as unprecedented going by its positive impact.
In the same vein, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Kiladejo, has hailed the performing lawmaker representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Hon. Abiola Makinde, over the establishment of the ultra-modern Ondo City Skill Acquisition Centre, says it will increase employment opportunities and crime reduction in societies.
The monarch who made the commendation during the inauguration and handed over the
Skill Acquisition Centre to the management of the Adeyemi Federal University of Education said the centre will enable youths in the area to imbibe skills that will make them become self-reliant.
With his numerous achievements, the lawmaker deserves to be celebrated to spur him to continue to do more and that is exactly what the Chronicle Magazine is set to do during the 2023 Fizzy.
Meanwhile, aside presentation of Awards to different categories of people, the Programme will feature launching of special publication and Lecture to be delivered by Barr Olufemi Mayor Omosuwa of Omosuwa Chambers; a Barristers & Solicitors, speaking on the theme “SECURITY’, A SINE QUA NON TO PEACEFUL ELECTIONS UNDER DEMOCRACY.
The event is expected to be chaired by Professor Olugbenga Ige, Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba- Akoko while Senator Ayo Akinyelure, National Assembly, Abuja and Hon Femi Idris, Chairman, Ondo State Local Government Service Commission, Akure are special guests respectively.
However, HRM Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade, Deji of Akure Kingdom and Saliu Adegbehingbe Aliu, Olumafon of Imafon are expecting to be Royal Fathers of the day while Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, Ondo State Governor is Special Guest of Honour.
Meanwhile, other Awardees are Mr. Olumide Orikunloye, a business magnate and the Chairman of Crest FM, Akure and Ibadan; AVSE Michael Ahonton Josu, Assistant Shepherd in charge of CCC Agunloye Cathedral Ondo State; Mr. Ogunleye Rotimi William, an Ondo State based public analyst, chattered Accountant and politician, Dr. Olujobi Olusola, Associate Professor from the College of Law, Department of Public and International Law, Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti.
Also to be honoured are Hon Balarabe Akinwumi, Former Aspirant to Akure South/North Federal Constituency, Ondo State; Rev (Mrs) Kemisola Akinwale Founder, Pillar House of Christ, Akure and Prophet Mike Olu Adegoke, General Overseer, Christ Apostolic Church, Beulah Land Prayer Ministry AKA OLOWONLA.
Also to be decorated is Air Commodore Ayodele Dudusola (rtd), former Director of Sports at Defence Heaquarters, Abuja and SP Funmilayo Odunlami, Police PRO, Ondo State.
