Akogun Omole: A Man with Invaluable Character and Intellectual Prowess

Nothing defines a man more than his invaluable characters and alluring intellectual capabilities, not just his masculine energy. Akogun Olugbenga Akinola Omole, the House of Assembly Member representing Akoko South West Constituency 1, is a complete gentleman with invaluable characters and intellectual prowess. His enviable personality traits have won him a place in the heart of many people in Ondo state. His integrity par excellence through diligent and honest execution of assignments speaks volume about his competence, dependability and loyalty. Akogun, as he is called by his admirers, has become a household name in the Social and Political Sphere in Ondo State.His appointment as Personal Assistant on Youth and Union Matters to Former Governor of Ondo State, Chief Adebayo Adefarati of Blessed memory, yielded great results and justified peoples’ trust in him. Akogun Omole held the position between 2001 and 2003. And, due to his alluring intellectual capabilities and invaluable characters in this position, he was eventually handed a higher responsibility as a Camp Commandant and Welfare Officer of Sunshine Stars Football Club between September 2009 and December 2011. During this period, the Darling Team of Ondo State football enthusiasts got Continental Ticket for the very first time. His deep knowledge of football matters in Nigeria Football and the Nigerian Professional League made him grace so many sports’ show on Radio and Television all over the country.The political dexterity of Gbenga Omole had enough room to flourish when he became the Coordinator of Aketi in Akoko South West Local Government Area before the APC primary election in 2016. Gbenga Omole was the brain behind “#IstandwithAketi” the hashtag which enjoyed wide acceptability by Aketi’s supporters on various social media platforms. Since he ventured into partisan politics in 2012, Akogun Omole has remained a dedicated and loyal supporter of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State. His social media campaigns and grassroots connective measures attributed to the landslide victory of Aketi in Oka-Akoko. The Oka-Akoko born Administrator and Political tactician is a member of Campaign for Democracy (CD) and a member Committee for Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) since 1995. Akogun is a foundation member of Ondo State Youth in Politics (OYIP) and the Publicity Secretary of Ondo State Youth Forum since 2001. He served as the President of Akoko Youth Forum and he is a foundation member of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) that later changed into the All Progressive Congress (APC). Omole is a member of Media and Publicity Committee of the APC in Ondo State, as well the Ondo State Coordinator of Broom for Every Home. He is the South West Zonal Coordinator of Nigeria Social Media Forum and the South West Zonal Coordinator of Nigeria Youth for Better Democracy. He worked tirelessly as the Chairman Directorate of Youth Buhari/ Osinbajo Campaign Organization, Ondo State Chapter in 2015. Gbenga repeated same feat as a member Directorate of Youth Akeredolu/Ajayi Campaign Committee in 2016.Forty-five year old Gbenga Omole hails from Oka in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State. He holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. He had earlier bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from University of Ilorin. Akogun attended Federal School of Arts and Science in Ondo for his Higher School Certificate and Owo High School for his West African Examination Certificate and St.Johns/Mary Demonstration Primary School Owo for his First Leaving School Certificate.Akogun is helpful and thoughtful. He is always interested in the well-being of his people. He called for a healthy lifestyle among his people when Lassa Fever was reported in some parts of the state. He educated his constituents on the need to take precautions since the fever has reportedly infected over one hundred and sixty-three people across nine states, with over twenty-four deaths. In a Press Release he personally signed, Omole said Ondo State is one of the nine states where the virus has infected people. Also, as part of his contributions in the fight against Covid-19, Hon. Akogun Olugbenga has distributed Hand Sanitizers, Face Masks and Gloves to residents of his community. He enjoined his constituents to wash their hands and sanitize frequently to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Also, for the second time in one week, the current spokesperson of the Ondo State House of Assembly gave Palliative Support to the people of his Constituency as his own support during this Lockdown period. Akogun Omole gave out Bags of Rice, Vegetable Oil and cash to the Widows, Elderly People, Youths, Community Leaders and Religious Leaders in his Constituency.For Akogun Omole, he is ever ready to serve his Constituency especially now that people are faced with the challenges of the dreaded Corona virus.Meanwhile, it would be recalled that Ondo State Government recently distributed food items to residents of Akoko south West Local Government.The food items were part of Governments Palliative to cushion the effect of Covid-19 stay at home order in Ondo State.Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the Palliatives were mostly the elderly and vulnerable people in the Local Government.However the Lawmaker Representing Akoko South West Constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly, Olugbenga Omole in his usual magnamity also donated a live cow to each of the 8 wards in his Constituency to supplement the palliatives that were made available by the state government to cushion the effect of covid-19 on the people.That this gesture was laudable and uncommon is an understatement considering what others have been distributing in terms of palliatives.The Olubaka of Oka Akoko, Oba Dr Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON,thanked Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and Olugbenga Omole for having the people at heart alwaysSome beneficiaries of the food items applauded the state government and the Lawmaker for remembering them at this crucial time.Having said this, it is apparent that Akogun Olugbenga Omole has justified the votes he garnnerd from his people during the election and by all standards, he has been on course and ever ready to give quality representation to his people.
