Aiyedatiwa Rewards Amotekun with New Welfare Packages, Deploys 650 Operatives for Sallah Security
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved a comprehensive welfare package for personnel of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, as part of efforts to strengthen the agency and enhance the wellbeing of its officers and men.

The development comes as the corps deploys 650 operatives across the state to reinforce security ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and ensure the safety of residents throughout the festive period.
Speaking at the Amotekun headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, the Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, said the governor’s approval covers several welfare initiatives aimed at improving the working conditions and social security of personnel.
According to him, officers and their families will now benefit from the Ondo State Contributory Health Scheme, granting them access to quality healthcare services across approved medical facilities.
Adeleye also disclosed that the governor approved the issuance of Warrants of Service Enlistment to personnel of the agency, pending the completion of the required legal procedures.
He further revealed that Amotekun operatives would be enrolled in the Contributory Pension Scheme and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), in addition to the life insurance cover already being enjoyed by members of the corps.
The commander described the measures as a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to rewarding dedication, boosting morale, and supporting officers who continue to play vital roles in maintaining peace and security across Ondo State.
On preparations for the Sallah festivities, Adeleye said the corps has mobilised 650 operatives to strategic locations across the state to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.
He explained that special patrol teams have been deployed to major roads, towns and vulnerable locations, while surveillance along border communities has been intensified to prevent infiltration by criminal elements.
The commander added that Amotekun Rangers operating within forest reserves and remote areas have stepped up operations to forestall attacks by kidnappers, bandits and other criminal groups during the holiday period.
According to him, security personnel have also been directed to maintain round-the-clock patrols around schools, healthcare facilities, worship centres and other critical public infrastructure.
Adeleye urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to security agencies, stressing that community cooperation remains essential in the fight against crime.
He assured the people of Ondo State that the corps, in collaboration with other security agencies, remains fully committed to safeguarding lives and property before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
