Tinubu Applauds Wike’s Performance, Says FCT Minister Delivers Results
President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his commitment to infrastructure development, describing him as a leader who remains focused on completing every assignment entrusted to him.

The President gave the commendation on Wednesday during the inauguration of the newly completed Collector Road C01 and its bridge in Abuja’s Institution and Research District. He said the rapid transformation of the nation’s capital reflects his administration’s broader vision for development across Nigeria.
Vice President Kashim Shettima represented Tinubu at the event.
According to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, the President praised Wike for consistently delivering critical infrastructure projects.
“He has shown once again that whenever he is given an assignment, he remains committed until it is successfully completed,” Tinubu said.
The President described infrastructure as a vital driver of economic growth, stressing that his administration is determined to replace abandoned projects with completed developments that improve the lives of Nigerians.
He noted that road construction opens up new districts, attracts investments, creates jobs and stimulates economic activities, adding that the ongoing transformation in Abuja represents the type of progress his administration intends to replicate nationwide.
Tinubu also reaffirmed his commitment to extending development to cities, satellite towns and rural communities, saying every Nigerian deserves the benefits of good governance.
Recalling the origin of the project, the President said it followed complaints by members of the Body of Benchers during last year’s Nigerian Law School Call to Bar ceremony over poor road access and traffic congestion around the Institution and Research District.
According to him, the government immediately approved the project under emergency procurement, leading to its swift completion.
He added that the project created hundreds of direct and indirect jobs while significantly improving movement for students, lecturers and residents who previously endured heavy traffic in the area.
“We promised Renewed Hope, and this completed road and bridge are clear evidence that we are delivering on that promise,” Tinubu stated.
Speaking at the ceremony, Wike revealed that the inauguration marked the 21st project commissioned in the FCT under the current administration.
He expressed appreciation to the President for providing the resources required to execute key infrastructure projects and for removing the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account, a move he said had accelerated project delivery.
Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, also commended Tinubu for what she described as unprecedented infrastructure development in the capital city and urged residents to protect public assets.
Meanwhile, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Richard Dauda, said the newly completed road, equipped with a link bridge, underground drainage system and solar-powered streetlights, will improve access to educational and research institutions while enhancing connectivity with neighbouring communities in line with the FCT Master Plan.
