King Solomon Akinwole Bags Agric Development and Leadership Icon Award at D Chronicle 2026 Agribusiness Programme
One of Ondo State’s leading Agribusiness entrepreneurs, King Solomon Oludare Akinwole as fondly called has been selected to receive the Agric Development and Leadership Icon Award at the 2026 Excellence in Agribusiness Lecture and Award Programme organised by D Chronicle Media Ventures.

King Solomon’s selection for the award reflects decades of dedication to entrepreneurship, agricultural investment, and community development. From modest beginnings in Agotitun, Idanre, he has built a legacy founded on perseverance, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to economic growth.
Despite facing financial challenges that limited his formal education, he refused to allow circumstances define his future. His entrepreneurial journey began in the late 1980s in the cocoa business, where his determination, honesty, and business insight quickly distinguished him among his peers.
Through years of hard work and strategic expansion, he established himself as a major player in agricultural commodities and produce trading.
His vision later extended beyond produce marketing into timber processing, oil and gas, and manufacturing. Through More Effort Nig. Ltd, he has successfully developed a diversified business empire that continues to create jobs, stimulate local commerce, and contribute significantly to the economic development of Ondo State.
As Chief Executive Officer of a thriving business conglomerate, Mr. Akinwole currently oversees More Effort Nig. Ltd, More Effort Produce Division, More Effort Oil & Gas, More Effort Sawmill, and More Effort Block Industries. These enterprises have not only strengthened his reputation as a successful entrepreneur but have also provided employment and business opportunities for numerous individuals across different sectors of the economy.
Beyond business success, Mr. Akinwole is widely admired for his leadership qualities and commitment to mentoring young entrepreneurs. Many emerging business owners credit his guidance and support for helping them establish sustainable ventures and achieve financial independence.
The event will hold on June 11, 2026, at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, by 2:00 p.m. and is expected to attract key players in agriculture, governance, business, and economic development. The programme is themed “Unlocking the Agricultural Tax Potentials: Strategies for Enhancing Ondo State IGR.”
The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, Ondo State Commissioner for Education, while Hon. (Engr.) Leye Akinola, Ondo State Commissioner for Forestry, will chair the occasion. The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour.
According to the organisers, the Agric Development and Leadership Icon Award recognises individuals whose contributions have advanced agriculture, enterprise development, and community prosperity. They noted that Mr. Akinwole’s remarkable rise from humble beginnings to becoming a respected business leader exemplifies the values of hard work, integrity, and transformational leadership.
As D Chronicle Media gathers stakeholders to discuss the future of agriculture and revenue generation in Ondo State, the recognition of Solomon Oludare Akinwole serves as a celebration of a man whose entrepreneurial achievements and commitment to development continue to inspire hope, create opportunities, and strengthen the agricultural economy.
