Kajola Network DG, Otunba Adefemi Lawal Set For Role Model in Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship Leadership Award
D Chronicle Media Ventures has announced Otunba Adekunle Lawal Adefemi as one of the distinguished recipients at its 2026 Excellence in Agribusiness Lecture and Award Programme, where he will be honoured with the prestigious Role Model in Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship Leadership Award.
The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the OSDPC Multipurpose Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The programme is themed “Unlocking the Agricultural Tax Potentials: Strategies for Enhancing Ondo State IGR,” and is expected to bring together key stakeholders in agriculture, business, governance, and economic development.
Otunba Adekunle Lawal Adefemi, popularly known as Otunba Odide, is widely recognized for his entrepreneurial excellence, business leadership, and commitment to economic empowerment. His journey reflects a remarkable story of resilience, vision, and determination, qualities that have earned him respect within and beyond Ondo State.
After completing his National Youth Service Corps programme in Jalingo, Taraba State, he devoted himself fully to building and expanding his business interests. Drawing inspiration from his late father, who was actively involved in the automobile business, Otunba Adefemi ventured into the sector and steadily transformed a modest enterprise into a thriving large-scale operation.
Since establishing his business in 1994, he has demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial skill and strategic leadership. Through dedication, discipline, and innovation, he expanded his operations significantly, attaining large-scale business status by 2011. Today, his vision extends beyond Nigeria’s borders as he works towards positioning his products and services for international markets, contributing to economic growth, wealth creation, and employment opportunities.
His extensive travels across America, Canada, Europe, and other parts of the world have further broadened his business perspective and strengthened his capacity to compete in an increasingly global economy. These experiences have enabled him to adopt modern business strategies and build networks that continue to support his entrepreneurial aspirations.
Beyond business, Otunba Adefemi remains actively involved in community and grassroots development. He currently serves as the Director General of Kajola Network, a grassroots support platform established by the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac. Through this role, he continues to promote community engagement, leadership development, and grassroots participation in governance.
The award is in recognition of Otunba Adefemi’s outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship, economic development, leadership, and his role in inspiring young people to embrace enterprise as a pathway to self-reliance and prosperity.

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, Honourable Commissioner for Education, Ondo State, while Hon. (Engr.) Leye Akinola, Honourable Commissioner for Forestry, Ondo State, will serve as Chairman of the occasion. The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour.
