Kolawole Ologede Clinches APC Ticket for Akure North in Landslide Primary Victory
Hon. Kolawole Ologede has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Akure North Constituency, securing the party’s ticket for the upcoming Assembly election.
The Akure North Constituency Election Committee announced the result on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after collating votes from all wards and polling units. According to the Committee, Ologede polled a clear majority of valid votes, giving him a decisive win that mirrors the preference of party members across the constituency.
The Committee stated that the exercise followed due process. Electoral officials, party agents, accredited observers, and security personnel were present to ensure voting and collation were conducted peacefully and transparently.
In its statement, the Committee thanked voters for turning out in large numbers and commended all stakeholders for contributing to a smooth and orderly primary. It added that the results would be forwarded to the appropriate electoral authorities for certification, with a final report and recommendations to follow within the required timeframe.
