Stakeholders Laud Adegbonmire’s Mega Empowerment as Unprecedented in Ondo Central
Prominent stakeholders in Ondo State, including Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, traditional rulers and political leaders, have commended Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire for what they described as an unprecedented empowerment programme across Ondo Central Senatorial District.
The commendations followed the successful hosting of the Adegbonmire Renewed Hope Mega Empowerment Programme, held on Monday at The Dome, Igbatoro Road, Akure, where hundreds of constituents benefitted from various empowerment tools aimed at boosting economic self-reliance.
Beneficiaries received items including tricycles, motorcycles, generators, sewing machines, deep freezers, industrial equipment, wheelchairs, dryers, books and other materials designed to support small businesses, artisans, traders and vulnerable groups.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was represented at the event, described the initiative as a practical demonstration of responsive leadership and a clear reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that governance must translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
Traditional rulers and community leaders also praised the senator’s commitment to grassroots development. The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, described the programme as a true “mega empowerment,” stressing that it reflected sincere dedication to public service and the welfare of the people.
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Oba Olu Falae, urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the empowerment items, advising against selling them and emphasizing the long-term benefits of self-sufficiency.
The Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Abdul-Hakeem Yayi-Akorede, lauded Adegbonmire for what he described as effective representation, adding that the empowerment initiative demonstrated appreciation and respect for the people of the district.
Also speaking, the Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ade Adetimehin, noted that the senator had gone beyond routine legislative duties by consistently delivering meaningful interventions that directly impact constituents.
The event is regarded as one of the largest empowerment programmes in Ondo Central in recent times, further reinforcing Senator Adegbonmire’s reputation for people-centered leadership and sustained commitment to economic development within the district.
