Alhaji Salihu Imam Bags Agric Development and Enterprise Icon at the Excellence in Agribusiness Lecture and Award

A native of Ilorin, Kwara State, he holds a degree in Islamic and Arabic Studies and a Higher Diploma in Business English from the United Kingdom, complemented by various professional trainings in marketing, salesmanship, and agriculture. His career spans significant leadership responsibilities, including his tenure as Regional Manager for the South West and Northern States in a major chemicals conglomerate, a role in which he championed agricultural development across multiple regions.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Alhaji Imam is deeply rooted in community service as the Chief Imam of Opeloyeru Mosque, where he continues to provide spiritual and developmental leadership. His contributions to the agricultural sector are reflected in the pivotal roles he holds within farmer associations and value-chain organizations across Oyo State and the South West, where he has consistently advocated for sustainable farming practices, improved farmer access to opportunities, and stronger support systems for rural communities.
The event, themed “Growing Beyond Oil: Agriculture As a Key to Nigeria’s Economic Diversification,” will feature a keynote lecture by Prof. Olorunfemi Oladapo Ogundele, with Mr. Omidokun Oyekunle serving as Chairman. Expected dignitaries include Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Oyo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, and Dr. Seye Oyeleye, DG, DAWN Commission.
