Light Up Ondo Project to Commence Soon – Engr. Olawoye
The Ondo State Government has approved the commencement of the “Light Up Ondo” project, a major solar-powered street lighting initiative aimed at enhancing security and improving night-time visibility across the state. This development is in line with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration’s commitment to advancing critical infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.

Speaking at a press briefing following the State Executive Council meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye, FNSE, FNICE, announced that 2,000 modern solar streetlights will be installed in each of the three senatorial districts. The installations will focus on critical road corridors and urban centers, contributing to safer communities and extended business hours across Ondo State.
“The State Executive Council has just ratified and approved the installation of solar street lights,” Engr. Olawoye stated. “This further underscores the unwavering commitment of His Excellency, Governor Aiyedatiwa, to ensuring that infrastructure development reaches every nook and cranny of the state.” He added that the council also reviewed progress on other ongoing projects, reaffirming the administration’s resolve to deliver sustainable development statewide.
