Chief OGO Hails Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Development Strides, Financial Management
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Oluwaseyi Gabriel Ogundare, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his impressive achievements in infrastructural development and prudent financial management within a short period of assuming office. Ogundare, popularly known as OGO and a technocrat from Imoru in Ose Local Government Area, described the governor’s efforts as bold, visionary, and people-oriented.
Speaking on recent developmental milestones, Chief OGO lauded the commencement of the dualisation of the Akure to Idanre Road (Phase 1), which he described as a critical step towards boosting economic activities and improving road connectivity in the central senatorial district. He also applauded the governor’s plans to rehabilitate the Irele–Sabomi–Igbo Otu road in the southern part of the state, saying these interventions show that Aiyedatiwa’s administration is leaving no region behind in the pursuit of progress. He further expressed optimism that more projects will be extended to the northern senatorial district, ensuring equitable development across the state.

In addition to physical infrastructure, Ogundare praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s exceptional record in financial management. He specifically referenced the recent data from the Debt Management Office (DMO), which revealed that Ondo State recorded the highest domestic debt reduction in Nigeria between 2023 and 2024. Under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, the state’s domestic debt plummeted from ₦74 billion to ₦12 billion, a remarkable 82.6 percent reduction—making Ondo the top-performing state in debt management nationwide. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Omowunmi Isaac, for maintaining fiscal discipline and transparency.
Ogundare noted that such financial prudence has not only restored investor confidence in Ondo State but also allowed for the clearance of salary arrears, gratuities, and other contractual obligations. The APC chieftain stressed that this achievement is a testament to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s deliberate and strategic economic reforms, which have positioned the state as a model for responsible governance and sustainable development in Nigeria. He urged residents to continue supporting the administration to consolidate on the gains already made.
