Adeleye vows to strengthen efforts to curb insecurity

The Commandant of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has assured the public that they have intensified efforts to curb insecurity in the state.

He gave this assurance while addressing journalists shortly after meeting with the of State House of Assembly in Akure.

“We were invited to the House to provide insights into the current security situation in Ondo State. We have explained in detail the government’s proactive measures in addressing security challenges.

“We want to reassure the good people of the state that Ondo State remains safe despite security breaches. The Corps is committed to maintaining law and order at all costs to protect residents.

“As of today, all security agencies in the state are working tirelessly in the affected areas. A joint team, comprising the police, the army, the civil defence, the DSS, and Amotekun, is operating efficiently.

The synergy among these agencies is strong and effective. Officers and men of the Corps will continue to intensify efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state,” he assured.

Reacting to the outcome of the meeting, the Speaker of the house of Assembly, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji said that the Commandant assured the house and residents that proactive measures are been taken to curb issues such as kidnapping, land grabbing among others.

He said that the resolution of the meeting include ,engagement with Traditional Rulers.”The House observed that many criminal activities are linked to individuals who have been provided shelter.To address this, the Assembly has resolved to hold security meetings with royal fathers to develop strategies for monitoring and controlling these activities.

He noted that the the House also agreed to review the existing Amotekun law and consider amendments where necessary to strengthen the corps’ operations.

The Speaker said lawmakers were instructed to return to their constituencies and engage with key stakeholders to discuss security concerns and implement preventive measures.

Oladiji assured residents that with these strategies in place, the security situation in the state would improve significantly.
