Chronicle Magazine to Honour Prof. Bolanle Ogungbamila as Education Champion at 2025 Fizzy Lecture and Award Ceremony
Chronicle Magazine is set to recognize Professor Bolanle Ogungbamila with the prestigious Education Champion Award at the highly anticipated 2025 Fizzy Lecture and Award Ceremony. The event will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 3 PM at the OSDPC Multipurpose Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State.

A distinguished Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Prof. Ogungbamila has dedicated over 20 years to Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA), serving in various administrative capacities. His roles have included Sub-Dean (Faculty of Social and Management Sciences), Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Dean of Student Affairs, Director of the Institute of Part-time Programmes, and Director of Academic Planning. He is currently a member of the University Governing Council.
With an impressive record of handling over 105 university committees and leadership positions, Prof. Ogungbamila has pioneered digital innovations in AAUA, introducing E-clearance, E-transcript, E-voting, Off-campus Unit, and E-administration of Hostels. His contributions have also enhanced operations at the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Institute of Part-time Programmes, and Academic Planning. His outstanding impact earned him the Best Staff of the Year (Academic Category) in 2014, along with numerous awards for his excellence and innovation.
A prolific scholar, Prof. Ogungbamila has published over 60 academic articles in esteemed local and international journals. He has also presented at numerous conferences, focusing his research on corruption and occupational burnout. His expertise extends beyond academia, as he consults for various local and international organizations and holds memberships in more than 10 professional bodies.
The 2025 Fizzy Lecture, themed “Curtailing the Mystery of Ritual Killings and Cyber Crimes: A Critical Analysis in Nigeria’s Perception,” will feature a keynote address by Dr. Gbenga Abimbola of the Mass Communication Department, AAUA Akungba. The event will be chaired by Hon. (Dr.) Gbenga Fasua, Chairman of Akure Local Government, while His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
Beyond his contributions to academia, Professor Ogungbamila is currently the Head of the Secretariat for the Nigerian Triple Helix Roundtable Project under the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).
