USO UNITY FORUM, NORTH AMERICA INAUGURATES NEW EXCO, AS OLAWALE ABAYOMI EMERGES PRESIDENT

It was a carnival like event on Friday, July 19, 2024, when Uso Unity Forum, North America held a celebratory event at Greenbelt Maryland USA, where new executives were elected to saddle the affairs of the forum for another period. At the well attended celebratory event, Mr. Olawale Abayomi emerged President where he promised to leave the forum better than he met it. Other executive members that emerged were Mrs. Bimbo Omoigberai as the General Secretary, Mrs. Titilayo Kolawole as the Treasurer, Miss Vero Alaro as the PRO and Mr. Dayo Oluwafemi as the Social Secretary.

In his address, the new President, Mr. Olawale Abayomi urged all Uso indigenes to unite and remain committed to their motherland, fostering love for the country at large.
He emphasized on the importance of peace and condemned the marginalization of Uso by both the State and the Political Leaders.

While fielding questions from our correspondent, Uso Unity Forum, North America used the medium to call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to recognize the community, highlighting that in the entirety of Owo LGA, Uso speaks a different language, which might be the reason they are being treated like outcasts, which he said must stop.

He further rejected , the purported Owo North West LCDA creation where the headquarters was sited at Emure-Ile, the forum condemned it in clear terms saying it was ridiculous and messy to merge Uso with Emure-Ile of which Uso has been the political head of Uso/ Emure Ward from time immemorial, and thereby described the LCDA creation in favour of Emure-Ile as a political error that can’t stand. He urged the Ayedatiwa-led Ondo State Government to right the wrong by either returning Uso to the old Local Government or create a separate LCDA for Uso and the numerous communities under it.

Abayomi went further to express his profound gratitude to all the members for the confidence reposed in him. He appreciated the old executives for a job well done and thanked the new executives and board of trustees for their dedication and commitment to the Forum and Uso at large. He however urged them to continue to show commitment.
In his words, “I know that the task ahead is not going to be easy but with God, all things are possible”.

He ended his speech by extending his appreciation to the Oloba of Uso His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ademola Olanipekun for being the best thing that has happened to the community and the people in general.

Spread the love
