ODHA lawmakers, Staff give thanks to God at Govt. House Chapel

Ondo State House of Assembly has reassured of its commitment of addressing governmental and constitutional issues with vision and the fear of God for the progress of the State.

The Speaker, Chief Olamide Oladiji gave the assurance at the Government House Chapel, Akure.

Lawmakers and Members of Staff of the Assembly returned all thanks to God for His benevolence and grace since the beginning of the year 2024 and past years.

The service was part of the State Government’s Agenda that Ministries and Parastatal should set aside a day to Worship God at the Government House Chapel, Akure.

The lawmakers and Members of Staff converged at the Chapel to acknowledge God for his love and faithfulness towards their lives as well as witnessing the second half of the year.

The Speaker, Chief Olamide Oladiji who led the Members and Staff to the service, recalled that despite different challenges as humans ,they have been able to sumount it.

The Speaker expressed joy for the gift of life, saying it was necessary for lawmakers and Civil Servants at the Assembly to join together in faith as they journey in the remaining months of year 2024.

Oladiji said Nigeria needs leaders with vision and foresight to overcome its challenges, promising that as lawmakers, they will continue to enact laws that will improve the lives of the people.

He said the State High court bill among others which was assented to by Governor Aiyedatiwa recently is a testament that the legislature puts the people first in its dealings.

The Speaker assured that the legislature will continue to work with executive to achieve success.

The Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who welcome the State Assembly to the service, prayed that God will bless them richly and it will mark a great thing in their lives.

Earlier in his homily, a Clergy, Pastor Michael Ogunboyede explained that it is by God’s grace and mercy that we are living hence the need to always give thanks to God.

Ogunboyede who drew his message from the books of 2nd Chronicles chapter 25 verse 1 to 4 and Psalm 1 verse 1 to 4,with the theme ” Good Leadership is not expressed by age”, admonished the worshippers to be transparent,honest, maintain integrity, love one another, among others,noting that these are things that strengthen organisational and societal development.

The implored people to make adjustments as they go into the second half of the year and do what is right both internally and externally and make a difference so as to be fruitful.

Intercessory prayers for peace, blessings and development were offered for the people and the State.

Worshipers appreciated Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who was present at the service for the sustainable initiative while others said they are happy to be among the living despite the life challenges.
