Ondo Assembly ratifies civil service commission members appointment, passes High Court amendment bill into law

Ondo State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointment of three Members of the State Civil service Commission sent by the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The three nominees sent to the house are; Mr Mathew Ayorinde Imoru from Akoko North West Local government,Mr lwabi T. Akpoebi from Ese Odo local government and Mr Sunday Agbotoba from Ose local government.
They were confirmed today at a plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji.
The Speaker in his ruling announced the ratification following the submission,approval of recommendation of the Selection Committee and adoption of the Lawmakers through a voice vote as well as appearance of the nominees before the house.
The House had earlier conducted screening exercise for the nominees on Tuesday at the assembly complex by the House Committee on Selection headed by the Speaker of the House.
Earlier, while presenting the report of the House Selection Committee at a plenary, the Vice Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Abayomi Akinruntan said the nominees responded to all questions raised by the Committee in a very eloquent and explicit order.
He noted that they have clear understanding of the positions, adding that they possess the required academic qualifications, physically, mentally and emotionally stable and fit to accomplish the task.
The Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon Tosin Ogunlowo -Ajirotutu had earlier moved a motion for the report to be considered and the nominees be confirmed as designates and was seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Abayomi Akinruntan.
Before the confirmation, Lawmakers from the nominees constituencies read profiles and spoke glowingly about them attesting to their competencies to function effectively.
The Speaker of the House Oladiji said the exercise is in line with the section 198 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,charging the designates to bring their wealth of experience to bear to take the civil service to the next level.
Mr Mathew Ayorinde Imoru who spoke on behalf of the designates pledged not to disappoint the Governor, the Lawmakers and the entire citizens of the State.
Also,a bill for a law to amend the provision of the Ondo State High Court law, 2006 has been passed into law.
It became law following the submission and adoption of the report of the Judiciary committee and after scaling through the third reading.
The Deputy Majority Leader of the house had earlier moved a motion for the passage of the bill which was seconded by a Lawmaker representing Okitipupa constituency 1 Hon Chris Ayebusiwa.
The Speaker said that the review bill would enhanced the dispensation of justice in the State.
