ODHA Holds Public Hearing on Ondo Corona System Bill

Ondo State House of Assembly has held a public hearing on a bill to establish the Ondo State Corona System that will regulate the process of death investigation and other matters when passed into law.
While declaring the programme open, the Chairman House Committee on Health, Hon Abiodun Faleye noted that the bill when it becomes a law will provide a perfect and detailed,post -mortem examination.
However, he noted that wider consultation is needed to capture all interest in the sector for a robust Bill and that more work should be done on it to ensure better health care delivery in the State.
He appreciated Stakeholders for their prompt response which he said is a clear indication of spirit of consciousness and commitment to the affairs of the State, assuring that every contribution made would be given the required attention.
The State Commissioner for health,Dr Banji Ajaka who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,Foluke Aladenola said that the bill is a good one but must be properly look into.
The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Health,Prof.Francis Faduyile affirmed that the bill will be a determinant for proper investigation on causes of death , adjust where necessary and ensure culprits are brought to book.
Other Stakeholders, including the executive of the State Nigeria Medical Association,(NMA) described the bill as laudable , welcome and timely which would go a long way to curb Sharp practices in the sector, shift the burden of investigation from the berieved, enhanced quality health care and create more job
