Suspected Car Thief Caught Riding Bicycle in GRA, Port Harcourt — Police Recover Stolen Hyundai and Master Keys

In a significant breakthrough against car theft in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Police Command has apprehended Felix Clark, a suspected car thief, along Abacha Road in the GRA district. Clark was intercepted by officers during a routine patrol — notably while riding a bicycle, a surprising choice for someone involved in vehicle theft.

Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, the police spokesperson, revealed that seven master keys were found on Clark during a search. These keys, commonly used in car theft, link him to a series of stolen vehicles.

Further investigation led officers to Clark’s residence, where they recovered a red Hyundai Sonata with registration number EKY 531 GG. The car had previously been reported stolen, directly implicating the suspect in the crime.

During interrogation, Clark disclosed names of fellow gang members allegedly operating across Lagos, Delta, and Edo States. Police believe this intelligence could help dismantle a broader criminal network.

According to the official police statement:
“On Wednesday, May 5, 2025, at 11:30 hours, operatives from the Anti-Cultism Unit, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Attah Alih, intercepted Felix Clark, who was riding a bicycle along Abacha Road, GRA. Upon search, seven master keys were recovered from the suspect, who was immediately taken to the station for further questioning. Following his arrest and interrogation, a red Hyundai Sonata with registration number EKY 531 GG, previously reported stolen, was recovered from his residence. The suspect has made a useful statement and identified other gang members operating in Delta, Edo, and Lagos States. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as developments unfold.”

Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to public safety and urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior.

This arrest marks a major stride in tackling the growing issue of car theft in Rivers State and underscores the impact of proactive policing and community collaboration.
